Online security is very important. If you share your financial situation or your p personal information is stolen, you can be targeted by scammers who defraud you of money. Keep passwords in your memory or a secure application, make them long enough and difficult, don't share them and confirmation codes with strangers. Update your software, including antivirus. Report scam phone calls to cellphone operators and your bank security service. Check for the green padlock icon in the address bar of your browser to ensure secure connection to the website you want to exchange important information with - the green sign says that the website is authenticated with valid authority certificates and your connection is encrypted. Don't automatically trust strangers, including online: a dating site visitor on the other end of the line can be a scammer too, and not of the gender you want to date. Don't fall victim to the "African advocate" fraud when you get an email telling you or a similarly named person you are entitled to a share in rich inheritance overseas - think twice and you will remember that you never had rich relatives abroad, and that your name on letter is badly misspelt - it is never intended for a real you.
