Sandwich with sausage, cheese and a tomato:
Roll to cut on two parts. One part to smear with sauce, to put a slice of a tomato and a cheese slice. From above to cover with the significant other of a roll. To put in an oven for three minutes. To decorate with green salad. Bon appetit!
Beef sausage, tomato and cheese sandwich
Ingredients
2 teaspoons olive oil
4 thick lean beef sausages
8 slices white bread
1/4 cup Fountain tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
4 slices reduced-fat sliced tasty cheese
Method
Heat oil in a medium frying pan over medium-high heat. Add sausages. Cook, turning, for 6 to 8 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Set aside to cool. Thinly slice.
Place 4 pieces of bread on a flat surface. Spread with sauce. Top with lettuce, cheese and sausage. Sandwich with remaining bread. Cut each sandwich in half. Serve.
Notes
You can use any type of bread or rolls. For kids, use wholemeal, wholegrain or light rye.
Wrap sandwiches in plastic wrap. Store in the fridge until ready to pack into lunch boxes. Pack sandwiches with ice bricks or frozen drinks to keep the fillings cool.
