Приведшее к вум небольшим цунами и заставившее трястись небоскребы в Токио, расположенном в 350 километрах южнее эпицентра! В результате стихийного бедствия пострадали по меньшей мере 150 человек.
В результате обрушения крыши бассейна в городе Сэндай - пострадали 19 человек. Так же в городе обрушились некоторые здания. Были серьезно нарушены линии электропередач, без электроэнергии остались более 17тыс.домов. Произошли оползни. На северо-востоке было прекращено движение скоростных поездов.
Местные власти предприномали все меры, по устранению последствий землтресения. Работали группы спасателей, разбирали завалы и спасали людей. Работали психологи. "Я с трудом смог удержаться на ногах"- сказал один из местных жителей...
