Есть 4 видов conditional: zero, first, second, third.
Zero conditional — это утверждение, факт.
Как строится:
If + present simple, present simple
Например:
If I drink coffee at night, I can't sleep /Если я пью кофе ночью, я не могу уснуть - факт

First conditional — реальное действие, оно может произойти в будущем, если будет выполнено условие.
Как строится:
If + present simple, future simple
Например:
If I study hard, I will pass my exams / Если я буду усердно учиться, я сдам экзамены

Second conditional — это маловероятное событие, которое может и не произойти в будущем
Как строится:
If + past simple, would (или could) + V (глагол)
Например:
If I had a car, I would travel a lot / Если БЫ у меня была машина, я БЫ много путешествовал - маловероятное событие

Third conditional — сожаление о несбывшихся событиях (по поводу прошлого)
Как строится:
If + past perfect, would (или could) have + V3 (3 форма глагола или окончание -ed)
Например:
If you had gone to bed in time, you wouldn't have missed your interview / Если бы ты вовремя лёг спать, ты бы не опоздал на интервью - сожаление о несбывшемся
