Borscht is a traditional dish that is prepared with beets, which gives it its characteristic rich color.

Peculiarities of cooking borsch Ukrainians, Russians, Poles, Romanians, Lithuanians cook red borsch in different ways, so there is no specific classic recipe. In each country, the dish is supplemented by folk tricks. Some boil the beets, some fry them, some stew them... Some add potatoes to the beets in the broth, others boil the beets for 30-40 minutes before adding the potatoes.

Traditionally the soup is made with meat broth. To avoid high cholesterol content in the dish, the broth is cooked on veal and beef, . There are as many recipes for borscht as there are regions in the countries. Beets, tomatoes, potatoes, onions and carrots are obligatory in every recipe.
Borsch differs from the usual hot soups by a complex recipe and duration of cooking.
