(1) To begin with you need a Scrabble board, a set of letters and a pencil and paper to keep the score. You can play with two, three or four players.
(2) Then each person takes one tile from the bag, and the person with the highest number on his or her tile will start the game. (3) After that each person takes six more tiles from the bag so that everyone has seven letters.
The first player starts by making a word which covers the star in the centre of the board. (4) Then the next player makes another word by (5) either creating a new word which crosses the original word (6) or by adding more letters to the original word.
(7) While players make a word they must take more letters from the bag (8) so that they always have seven. All the players continue making words in this way (9) until there are no more letters in the bag and one person has used all their tiles.
(10) During playing try to cover the coloured squares as these increase the number of points on the tile. (11) Lastly, after the game one person keeps the score by adding up all the numbers in each word played.
(12) Firstly, it should be remembered that Scrabble can take a very long time if the players are really keen and, of course, players get better with practice.
