The author introduces the reader to a pair of secret agents Hawker and Jude, who work for the European Intelligence Agency in Brussels. The characters share with the reader three cases from their practice, which are not all directly related to something paranormal.

The first story happens in London, where instead of guinea pigs, a large medical company catches homeless people. If a medicine that is very necessary for humanity goes on sale not decades later, but already now, does it really matter how many people were used against their will as subjects?

The second case sends Hawker and Jude to Scotland, to the shores of the famous Loch Ness. The hunt will be for a more bloodthirsty monster, which is called "man". In any case, the monster the agents encountered was once one.

The final expedition of the workers of the United Nations is taking place in Ecuador, on the Galapagos Islands, where, according to one scientist, a UFO landed. Hawker and Jude do not have time to see the spaceship with their own eyes because of the volcanic eruption. So whether the "plate" was actually there or was a figment of the scientist's sick imagination remains a mystery.
