Victor R. Choi (June 21, 1962, Leningrad, USSR - August 15, 1990, the 35-th km of highway Sloka - Talsi, 2,5 km to the west of the village Kesterciems, Tukums district, Latvian SSR, USSR) - Soviet rock musician, songwriter, artist. Founder and leader of the rock band "Cinema", in which he sang, played guitar, wrote music and poetry. He acted in several films.
Biography
Viktor Tsoi was born in Moscow near the city of Leningrad in the family gym teacher Valentina Choi (January 8, 1937 - November 28, 2009) and the engineer of Korean descent, Robert Maksimovic Coy (born May 5, 1938). Tsoi father - a Korean mother was Russian. Only child.
From 1974 to 1977, visiting secondary art school, where there is a group of "House number 6", headed by Maxim Pashkov. After exclusion of the poor performance of the Art School named V.postupaet in SGPTU-61 on specialty "woodcarver". In his youth, was an admirer of Mikhail Boyarsky and Vladimir Vysotsky, the late Bruce Lee's image which began podrazhat.Uvlekalsya martial arts and often fought in Chinese with Yuri Kasparyanom professionally carved wood netsuke figurines.
Death in accident
August 15, 1990 in 12 hours 28 minutes, Victor Tsoi was killed in a car crash. The accident occurred on 35 km of the road "Sloka - Talsi" under Tukums Latvia, a few dozen kilometers from Riga. According to the most plausible version of the official, Choi fell asleep at the wheel, after which the "Moskvich-2141" in light gray flew into the opposite lane and collided with the bus "Ikarus-250".

Виктор Цой родился в Московском районе города Ленинград в семье преподавателя физкультуры Валентины Васильевны Цой (8 января 1937 — 28 ноября 2009) и инженера корейского происхождения Роберта Максимовича Цоя (род. 5 мая 1938). Отец Цоя — кореец, мать была русской. Единственный ребёнок в семье.

Смерть в автокатастрофе
15 августа 1990 года в 12 часов 28 минут Виктор Цой погиб в автокатастрофе. ДТП произошло на 35 километре трассы «Слока — Талси» под Тукумсом в Латвии, в нескольких десятках километров от Риги. Согласно наиболее правдоподобной официальной версии, Цой заснул за рулём, после чего его «Москвич-2141» светло-серого цвета вылетел на встречную полосу и столкнулся с автобусом «Икарус-250».
Столкновение автомобиля «Москвич-2141» светло-серого цвета с рейсовым автобусом «Икарус-250» произошло в 12 час. 28 мин. 15 августа 1990 г. на 35 км трассы Слока — Талси. Автомобиль двигался по трассе со скоростью не менее 130 км/ч, водитель Цой Виктор Робертович не справился с управлением. Смерть В. Р. Цоя наступила мгновенно, водитель автобуса не пострадал. …В. Цой был абсолютно трезв накануне гибели. Во всяком случае, он не употреблял алкоголь в течение последних 48 часов до смерти.
