Teacher told his students that Tolkien's the Lord of the rings had been a favourite book with children for years, and the film, based on book, was not less popular. And then he asked the students which was better in their opinion: books or films?
Dylan replied that definitely, books were much better than films. There were more books with fantastic plots and well -developed characters than films. And one could take books anywhere and read them anytime he wanted.
Sean argued that maybe it was true, but he preferred films because films were more exciting. In a film one could get involved in all the action and actually would feel like he was there. Besides, books could be boring but films were so cool, colourful and wonderful. One could just sit and enjoy them. One could also watch a film with his family or friends and talk about it after.
Dylan disagreed that on the other hand most films missed half the story while books told the whole story. One could use his imagination, not like with films where one could only see it! And he asked Lisa what she thought.
Lisa answered that she thought that books and films were both great. Books were more educational and informative and descriptive. But films were more fun and had more pictures. So she wasn't sure if she liked films or books better.
