Charlie Chaplin was a great comic actor, composer and filmmaker. His parents were famous artists, but the family was poor because of his father's early death and his mother's illness. He was sent to a workhouse when he was a child. Chaplin was very young when he started performing as an actor. At the age of nineteen he got signed to a company and moved to America. By the age of thirty he became one of the most famous actors of his time.

The Kid was the first full length film he produced and starred in. Many of his films were true masterpieces and influenced cinema a lot. The most well-known ones are The Gold Rush, A Woman in Paris, The Pilgrim, The Circus and The City Lights.

On set he was a perfectionist. He was famous for dozens of takes, rebuilding the set and even replacing the actors when he thought that they weren't quite good enough.

His characters expressed a wide range of emotions — from sorrow and despair to love and joy. Everyone has such experience, so it was really easy for the viewers to relate. Good humor and irony were also an inseparable part of Chaplin's characters.

I want to recommend you to watch Spiderman. It is a great adventure film. The story takes place in New York City. The main characters are Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson and Norman Osborn. Peter Parker is a student who does not have many friends. One day a spider bites him in a museum. He gets special powers from the Spider’s bite and soon he can do anything that a Spider can do. He wants to stop Norman Osborn from hurting people and he likes to help people who need him, such as Mary Jane Watson, the girl he likes. I don’t want to spoil it for you, so I’m not going to tell you what happens in the end. Spiderman is a very exciting film and is well worth seeing.
