Our visit to Mexico was perfect apart from the jet-lag on the way back to
England. It takes about one week for the sleep pattern (body clock) to
settle
down, but it is worth it.
We fly to Mexico with TUI premium economy. This means better seats,
better food and personal attention from the cabin crew. When we arrive in
mexico there is a private car waiting to take us to the hotel. We always
take
some small gifts for the hotel staff, because they are very kind to us.
Especially
in the French restaurant, where they place rose petals on the table for us
every
night that we eat there. Very romantic.
The chef who is about 1,4 metres tall and almost as wide, always does a
different carving with a melon and a tealight (candle) every time we eat
there.
The holiday is all inclusive so we can have whatever food we want and the
same
with drink.
The hotel has eight restaurants, French, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Asian,
Pizza,
Steak grill and Lobster. All 5* cooking. Because it is all-inclusive, people
are
allowed to eat and drink as much as they like, - no extra charge.
The young lady in Guest Relations checked with us each day to see which
restaurant we wanted to eat it that evening, and then she made the
reservation
for us.
The accommodation was superb. The room was enormous with en suite
bathroom - double washbasins, wetroom with shower, jacuzzi, an enormous
extra kingsize bed, large sitting room area, and a balcony with table and
chairs which overlooked the lazy river/swimming poolss. Champagne in the
room with fruit and flowers.
The lazy river swimming pool was egg-shaped and was about 300 metres to
swim around. Plenty of sunbeds and towels. About once an hour a young
lady would arrive to ask what we would like to drink from the pool bar.
The beach stretches for kilometre after kilometre of white sand. Because the
sand is white, it remained cool during the middle of the day because it
reflected the heat. Not like Cyprus with burnt feet!
The sea was quite easy to swim in. The people are very, very friendly and
always offer to help.
The breakfasts were brilliant with everything one could wish for. Plenty of
oatmeal, smoked salmon and fruit. Lunch (for us) was usually sushi.
Dinner,
as I have already said, was in one of the superb restaurants. Wednesday was
the Manager's cocktail party, when all the staff were introduced.
