Ekaterina’s
Palace – ex-empire castle, one of the biggest in neighborhood of Saint-
Petersburg.
It’s situated in a modern city – Pushkin.
Castle was built in the 1717
by Rastrelly and decorated in the baroque style. It was the country residence
of Nicolay II – the last ruler of the Russian Empire. In the palace remained
many personal things of Nicolay’s II family.
It’s a very popular place for tourists. The roof of the castle is designed by
golden statues. Rumor has it, that when the palace was built, for the statues
were used about 100 kilograms of gold.
Inside there are many places to see. For example, Amber Room, one of the most
famous place in the Ekaterina’s Palace. During the Second World War it was
destroyed by german soldiers, but now it was repaired.
Near of the castle is situated a gorgeous garden. Common S – about 2,5 kilometers.
There are many alleys,fountains
and statues.
Also, in the palace there is a collection of pictures, which Catherine I collected
by myself.
